Mister Monday
By Garth Nix
Prologue [One of the fragments of the Will had escaped – and it was all his fault.]
Chapter One (Part I) [Then the light faded completely, to reveal a weirdly dressed man in a very strange sort of wheelchair being pushed across the grass by an equally odd-looking attendant.]
Chapter One (Part II) [Arthur stared at it for a second before he realised what it was. It was the minute hand of some sort of antique clock. It was real and so was the notebook in his pocket. Mister Monday and Sneezer had been there. It wasn’t all an oxygen-deprivation dream.]
Chapter Two [About Arthur's family. Oh, and Ed and his sister too. And there's magic.]
Chapter Three [Not very much going on, but still good]
Chapter Four [Seems like Arthur's fears for an epidemic aren't exactly unfounded...]
Chapter Five [And now we meet Monday's right-hand man.]
Chapter Six [However invincible Noon may seem, he does have his name for a reason...]
Chapter Seven (Part I) [This will form the basis for a large part of the plot in the later books, and its fallout will be felt through the entire series.]
Chapter Seven (Part II) [In which I gripe just a little about the story so far.]
Chapter Eight [The strangest flood anyone had ever seen.]
Chapter Nine (Part I) [Arthur's inside the House now, though with quite some difficulty. The book ought to pick up soonish, too.]
Chapter Nine (Part II) [It's fine, but also boring. (Not a complaint I thought I'd have!)]
Chapter Ten (Part I) [It seems the editor has forgotten to do part of this chapter. Oh well, at least the story picks up now!]
Chapter Ten (Part II) [We do need context to be invested in a story, Nix]
Chapter Eleven [The Will explains some things to us.]
Chapter Twelve [The book turns much better! (It still gets very stupid, though)]
Chapter Thirteen [Why can this not be better?]
Chapter Fourteen [Yet more fluff and poor continuity.]
Chapter Fifteen [The pacing issues continue, unfortunately.]
Chapter Sixteen (Part I) [The Old One appears to be quite a nice sort, frankly.]
Chapter Sixteen (Part II) [Arthur now has an escape plan!]
Chapter Seventeen [At least things will improve soon for Arthur?]
Chapter Eighteen [The book's “astonishing turnabout”: from dull drag to excitement.]
Chapter Nineteen and Chapter Twenty [Taking the scenic route.]
Chapter Twenty-One and Twenty-Two [This story actually gets exciting, and it is such a difference.]
Chapter Twenty-Three and Chapter Twenty-Four [Infiltrating Monday's lair.]
Chapter Twenty-Five [The climactic chapter (which is very good)!]
Chapters Twenty-Six and Twenty-Seven [Wrapping all the House business up.]
Chapters Twenty-Eight and Twenty-Nine
Final Thoughts/Verdict [Quite some complaining]
