Some time ago, I reviewed a book with an introduction about how it was one of the first actually queer fantasy novels I'd read. It was a lot harder, when I was a kid, to find books that had LGBT+ elements and most of my favorites were happy accidents.
Unfortunately, that book was the first in a series, and the characters didn't actually get together until the second. So, while there was a clear queer presence within the universe, it didn't quite deliver what I'd promised. Sorry.
Well, it's been a while. AND it's Pride Month. So, I figure, why not start on the second one? It feels appropriate.
So let's go!
( Sadly, the romance probably won't commence until long after Pride Month, Alas )
