Twenty-odd years on and Sallah's actions in this chapter still skeeve me the fuck out. ESPECIALLY knowing how it goes for the rest of the book and her being treated as a pure uncorrupted heroine for her (admittedly selfless) actions at one point.

Yes she did one genuinely good thing. Still a rapist!
