It's funny that for all of her flaws, Roberson actually really excels in giving us complex and effective female villains. Tynstar was a non-entity, albeit with style. Strahan started strong, but sadly will be deteriorating slowly. (He's not bad here, but book 6 is cringeworthy.) Lillith and another one we'll meet later, however, are great.
And I think Gisella is great too. Potential ableism issues aside (I'm not qualified to weigh in on that), she's incredibly sympathetic. But whether or not she's salvageable is an interesting question.
